There’s no denying that this year’s election has been… interesting. It seems that every day there’s a new story trending about one candidate or another, and most of those stories get pretty ugly! But, in the midst of all the name-calling and depressing advertisements we’ve seen this election, there’s one politician who is keeping it clean… and going viral for it! His name is Gerald Daugherty.

Gerald lives in Travis County, Texas, and– as his wife, Charlyn, says– “all he wants to do is fix things.” The lovable Mr. Fix It is running for re-election as Travis County Commissioner, and Charlyn fears that– if he isn’t re-elected– he’ll drive her insane.

The lighthearted ad was inspired by the popular TV show The Office. Charlyn stares into the camera as Gerald crunches numbers aloud. “Please re-elect Gerald,” she begs.

The hilarious ad is going viral, and CNN asked the real Gerald Daugherty if his wife really does roll her eyes at him. “She really does.” said Gerald. “She didn’t have to take but two or three takes on that.”

When asked if he thinks his wife truly wants him out of the house, Gerald had this to say: “Oh, absolutely! She does love me a lot, but she loves me away!”

Check out Gerald’s hilarious– and refreshing– video below and share!
