If you have a roof over your head, clothes on your body and good food on your table, you should be grateful and stop complaining, and just remember there are people who lack such things. With food prices rising, Haiti’s poorest can’t afford even a daily plate of rice, and some take desperate measures to fill their bellies.
These people has come to rely on a traditional Haitian remedy for hunger pangs: cookies made of dried yellow dirt from the country’s central plateau. The cookies have a bad taste and very bad for their health, but the locals insists it’s all they can afford and it keeps their stomach full. We pray that their situation change and that they may all be able to afford good food.
