A major celebrity of the wrestling world has given his opinion on the 2016 Presidential election which saw Donald Trump emerge victorious.

Sports Entertainment figure and Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson released a statement on social media calling on his fellow countrymen to focus on hard work and unity rather than conflict.

“Many Americans are heart broken and many Americans are happy,” Johnson said, Comic Book reports. “Let’s let the emotions of both sides settle and focus on our future.”

The statement came from Johnson’s latest post on Instagram.

“We all wear a lot of hats in today’s crazy life we live and the one I’m most proud of is being a father to two beautiful young daughters,” Johnson said. “At this time the only thing I can do for them is to continue to try my best to lead by example.”

Johnson is just one of many celebrities to chip in with his reaction to the 2016 Presidential election. Multiple celebrities have contributed their opinion with most channeling anger and despair. One of these, Captain America star Chris Evans, also called for unity in the midst of the controversy.

Last month, Johnson’s fans urged each other to write in the celebrity on the election ballot. Johnson acknowledged the idea but has stood down from actively encouraging the vote in his favor, Fuse reports.
