French gymnast Samir Aït Saïd snapped and broke his leg during a horrifying accident at the 2016 Summer Olympics.As the 26-year-old athlete attempted to complete his vault landing during the second subdivision of the men’s qualifying events, his left leg snapped. Multiple reports claim that the sound of his leg breaking could be heard throughout the entire arena.

Aït Saïd can be seen rolling over the ground, grabbing his leg in pain as the lower portion of his shin dangled in the opposite direction from the rest of his leg.Moments later, the gymnast was carried out of the arena on a stretcher.
