In 2013, Joni and Luke Timm anxiously waited for their FedEx package to arrive. You see, this was no ordinary delivery… because inside the box were frozen embryos.

It all started when Luke, who is a pastor, received a prayer request for a couple who adopted an embryo. Curious as to what this meant, Luke learned about embryo adoption, which gives leftover embryos donated after IVF treatment a chance at life. The Timms adopted embryos from a couple in Alaska, signed the paperwork, and waited for their potential “future kids” to arrive. Since only a fraction of these embryos survive, Joni implanted two of them.
