According to one Canadian study, dandelion extract may kill as much as 96% of human leukemia cells in vitro. The extract, picked from fresh dandelions from a nearby field, killed up to 96% of the leukemia cells after 48 hours of treatment in vitro, leading researchers to note the extract has “great potential.”

The study, led in part by Canadian cancer researcher Dr. Caroline Hamm, resulted from at least one patient from whom chemo had not worked, but dandelion tea did. Of course, dandelion extracts have been a part of traditional herbal medicine for centuries.
