A dad on Reddit who goes by the user name Steec has created some pretty death-defying photos with his young daughter and the Internet is losing its mind. “I’ve been photoshopping my kid into marginally dangerous situations,” Steec wrote. “Nothing unbelievable, but enough to make people think “Wait, did he..?”
The reason he made the photos has a deeper meaning, though. When his daughter was four-months-old, he shared that she was diagnosed with a rare immune disorder. It was a very trying time for their family and their baby would end up staying in the hospital for eight months. She also had to have a bone marrow transplant.
She’s home now and her family couldn’t be happier. “Now that she’s out of isolation we’re catching up on everything we missed and doing fun stuff like this,” her dad wrote about the silly photoshopped photos he created. “It’s great fun.”
His photos show his daughter in a few crazy predicaments like holding a knife or driving a car. Steec wrote that there have only been two types of reactions to his photos: “The outraged old people, and the people that knew they were all photoshopped.”
“The one on the fence was the first one I did. Some random person on Facebook that I don’t know commented that I should be shot,” he wrote. “This spurred me on to make more.”
Steec intentionally made some obvious mistakes in the images to let people know they weren’t actually real, like the speedometer rev counter is on zero and there isn’t a shadow on the knife.
Some people still insist the images are real and he’s a reckless dad. But he knows otherwise. For now, he enjoys keeping them guessing. We can’t wait to see what he does next!
