GOP candidate, Ben Carson, visited Bellevue Baptist Church this past Sunday. He declined an opportunity to speak and instead, was just addressed during the offering portion of their service.
He spoke extremely powerful words about God speaking to him through the story of Gideon in a time he was seeking God’s perspective. His visit was described as just him looking to come and worship. It’s clear what he says is off the cuff, however, it’s powerful
What’s most interesting about this is, he doesn’t seem to be using his Christianity as a political point to garnish a demographic of voters, he also really speaks as if he’s familiar with the character of God, something almost every other GOP candidate who says their Christian, lack. Everything from his inflection, vernacular, and even passion behind what he says, gives off the impression that he’s someone who genuinely has an active relationship with God and studies the Bible.
