Sonali Mukherjee, is the latest person to have won millions in the Indian version of “who wants to be a Millionare”. But Mukherjee, 27 is different. She was a victim of an acid attack in 2003 which melted her face and made her blind and deaf. She has since been trying to raise money for her surgery. She was approached by the team of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and which was featured in the movie Slumdog Millionaire. Mukherjee, has had 22 surgeries done on her in the last nine years and has more lined up over the next year and a half. She won 2.5 million Indian Rupees on the show, but is till short of her target to fund her surgery.
